Monsoons in Goa | The best time to visit Goa | Holiday in Goa
4th June, 2018

Is this the best time to be in Goa? Possibly.

By Shamaine C

Just this morning I received a call from a friend informing me that she will be in Goa soon and hopes to enjoy a quick holiday here before the monsoons unleash their might. As someone who has lived in Goa for most of my life, I cannot for the life of me, fathom why anyone would want to miss the monsoons in Goa; in my opinion they constitute the most magical part of the year.

Monsoons in Goa begin roughly by the first week of June and last for a good four months; the wettest parts being July through August. If you live in a crowded metro like Mumbai, it’s easy to understand how loathsome the season can be. Knee-high floods, power-cuts and public transport breakdowns make up my unforgettable memories of the monsoons in Mumbai.

In Goa the monsoons are unforgettable too, but for an entirely different reason. As the sea swells and crashes, washing up jellyfish and flotsam, visits to the beach must necessarily come to a halt. The good news is that this now opens up opportunities to discover Goa’s virgin hinterland and to luxuriate in its raw, natural beauty.

As you stand surrounded by fields of jade and emerald, taking in air that’s sweet and moist, all that’s left to add a touch of filmy to an already dreamy vignette is a chiffon saree and a light shower.

Indoors, it’s terrifically cozy, especially if you’re in as charming a location as Varca where the endless greenery and playful breeze airlift you to paradise. Our real estate project here – Verde, meaning green in Portuguese, offers the ultimate destination to unwind and enjoy the best of Goa, especially the monsoons.
